Hospitality Cleaning Checklist for Perth Venues

Plan front-of-house presentation, high-traffic floors, amenities and back-of-house tasks around the way your venue trades.

Cleaning team preparing a modern Perth restaurant before opening

Hospitality cleaning has to fit around service, deliveries, staff preparation and customer expectations. A useful plan separates presentation tasks, routine cleaning and specialist work so responsibilities remain clear.

The exact scope will vary between a café, pub, restaurant, function venue and commercial kitchen. Start with the zones below, then assign a frequency and responsible team to every task.

01

Front-of-house presentation

Customers notice entrances, tables, floors and washrooms before they see behind-the-scenes processes. These areas should be checked before opening and monitored according to the level of trade.

Cleaning methods should suit the finishes and avoid leaving strong odours, residue or wet floors close to opening time.

  • Clean entry glass, handles and visible door marks
  • Wipe tables, counters and agreed seating surfaces
  • Vacuum or mop dining floors and traffic paths
  • Remove dust from accessible ledges and presentation areas
  • Reset furniture according to the venue layout
02

Bars, counters and service points

Clarify which surfaces are handled by venue staff during close-down and which are included in the cleaning scope. Food-contact equipment and specialised bar systems may require venue procedures rather than general cleaning.

Exterior counters, splash areas, accessible shelves and surrounding floors can be scheduled once stock and service items are safely stored.

03

Back-of-house and kitchen boundaries

Commercial kitchens contain equipment, chemicals and regulated food-handling processes. The scope should identify which accessible surfaces and floors are included and which specialist tasks remain the venue's responsibility.

Deep cleaning of exhaust systems, grease traps, internal cooking equipment or other specialist assets should not be assumed to form part of a general venue clean. List those requirements separately and use appropriately qualified providers where needed.

  • Agree responsibility for benches and accessible exterior surfaces
  • Identify floor areas and suitable cleaning windows
  • Keep chemicals stored and used according to site procedures
  • Separate general cleaning tools from any venue-controlled food-area equipment
  • Record specialist equipment that is excluded from the routine scope
04

Washrooms and high-contact areas

Amenities may need cleaning before trade, after close and during long or busy service periods. Include mirrors, fixtures, partitions, floors and consumable checks where required.

Door handles, railings and other frequently touched customer surfaces can be included in regular presentation rounds without making unsupported claims about eliminating all germs.

05

Match the schedule to trading patterns

A venue that is busiest on weekends may need a different plan from Monday to Thursday. Function spaces may require pre-event presentation, rapid turnarounds or post-event resets instead of an identical daily schedule.

Share event calendars and seasonal changes early. The cleaning provider can then confirm whether additional time or a different access window is available.

06

Make handover and communication simple

Nominate one contact for scope changes and service feedback. Record access instructions securely, identify alarm procedures and explain any areas that must remain untouched.

A short documented checklist for each zone helps venue staff and cleaners recognise what has been completed and raise issues before the next service.
